Meet Alan Burt

“Arps is a quality, local company that cares about the products they put out on store shelves and that ultimately end up in your refrigerator. Arps is fair in meeting the needs of their employees, and in turn the employees work hard and value the relationships they make not only with our coworkers, but with the customers who stop by as well.” – Alan Burt

Meet Alan Burt

Alan Burt is Arps Dairy’s HTST Operator. In his own words, Alan described the position by stating, “I pasteurize our products such as ice cream and orange juice, and also our milk products when needed. I also assemble the separators we use to separate out the butterfat from the skim milk. We then add some butterfat back into the milk depending on the milk’s fat content. For example, to make 1% milk, 1% of butterfat is added back into the product, and so on and so forth for 2%, whole (which is 3.25%), and 3.75% for our new Farm Fresh product line.”

Alan first heard of Arps Dairy through Manpower, which is a temporary staffing agency. “Arps accepted me on a trial basis and after three months, brought me on full time. I’ve been with Arps for over a year now.” Alan continued saying, “Back then I was in need of full-time work, and I have stayed because I have learned my job well, the benefits are great, the wage is competitive, and I am able to have most weekends off and still have a life outside of work.”

Alan would use Local, Quality and Personal as the three words to best describe Arps, and finds it rewarding to be a full-time team member of a local business.

When Alan isn’t working at Arps Dairy he can often be found at various rodeos in the area, including Van Wert, Ohio. Alan enjoys teaching the Word of God, watching movies, horseback riding (when he can), camping and reading.

Alan would like the community to know that, “Arps is a quality, local company that cares about the products they put out on store shelves and that ultimately end up in your refrigerator. Arps is fair in meeting the needs of their employees, and in turn the employees work hard and value the relationships they make not only with our coworkers, but with the customers who stop by as well.”
